Jul 16, 2020 The Getrag gearbox is a retrofit 5 speed. It would require a kit to fit. Mark Bull in the UK makes these. There are other makers but they have slipped my mind. Very good transmission. Much more precise than the original 4 speed. Aug 05, 2019 Ford/Getrag revised and beefed up the fork. I think I’ve only seen 1 maybe 2 19+ with broken forks. Like all things you can find on C6G about broken trans, in the GT350 pages about broken trans, like any other performance based manual transmission car. If you have a problem you have a warranty.

Volvo M 90 5 speed
(Volvo's strongest)

M90 Summary: There are 2 different versions of the M90, L and H. The ONLY difference is the gearing, L for lower first and second gear and H for a slightly higher first and second. There is an older pre-95 M90 version being weaker than the post-95. I believe that the difference lies in the syncros of the first 3 gears. All M90's come from 94-98 940 models. <Info from Patrick Myhrman>
The later versons are reportably good for 400 hp. Biggest issue is the flywheel, you'll have to take the 850R clutch and a flat B21/23 flywheel and modify accordingly. <Per>
The bellhousing is intergrated with the gearbox, therefore if you seek one ensure its for the B230 red motor, NOT the one off a 6yl white (or alloy) motor. The part e.g. # 1208790 is on the left side of the transmission.
Another issue is the length of the mainshaft - Initially the box mates to a thick dual mass flywheel (expensive), BUT if used with a Volvo flat flywheel the input shaft is not long enough to fit into the crank pilot bearing. An adaptor would be required, more info when a fix comes to light.
